Living in Los Angeles definitely has its upside: beautiful weather, beaches and some of the best places to create memories with loved ones. Following is a quick little round-up of where I spent my last week in July. In no particular order …

Delilah: Speaking of Aussies, my friend Anna is in town to celebrate her birthday, so we decided to grab some cocktails at the modern-day sexy speakeasy spot in West Hollywood from famed h.wood group;
Employees Only LA: Next door to Delilah, you can find Employee’s Only. I prefer a seat at the back bar and always ask the bartenders to create a cocktail for me (which is usually a riff on vodka, bubbles and eldeflower). The new menu from Chef Brian Bornemann (formerly of La Peer’s Viale dei Romani) is not to be missed;
Cecconi’s: I love a great bolognese (I’m looking at you Il Fico), and Cecconi’s serves some of the best. The patio and bar seats makes for great people watching – but really, all of the spots on this list make for great people watching;
Little Beach House Malibu: The Malibu outpost of the members-only SoHo House family way to spend a Sunday Funday or Summer Friday. Actually – it’s a perfect way to spend any day of the week really. We toasted the iconic sunset with their House Rose.
What about you? Where are you spending these final summer days and nights?
P.S. Coming up for you LA Food & Wine lovers …
Beauty & Essex: Chef Chris Santos is collaborating with Chef Antonia Lofaso (DAMA) to kick off the Los Angeles’ Food & Wine Festival on Thursday, August 22. Together, they will create a one-night-only collaborative culinary journey, including a specialty cocktail hour followed by a 5-course seated dinner. Get your tickets here.
