VGH VOTE blogslide

I am so excited!  I have been going to the Cosmoprof North American (CPNA) show for the past 4 years.  My GHubbs fashion designer Joey Galon assured me that it is one of THE beauty shows to see and he was right!  CPNA  is the award winning premier international B2B beauty trade show covering all facets of the industry under one roof and the largest event of its kind in the Americas.  There will be over 30,000 beauty brands, companies, bloggers, media, buyers, pros and beauty lovers descending upon Mandalay Bay during this glamorous summer week.

Last year was super exciting when they launched Beauty Pitch, an amazing program to help both start up and established companies gain exposure, distribution and much more.

Above:  Here is a shot I took of the stage from the audience last year at Beauty Pitch … who knew that the following year we would actually be named a Top 3 FINALIST in the Established category?!

There is also a great AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD that we’d love to win.  It would give us a complimentary booth in 2017 and a membership to PBA.  You can vote here daily. And PLEASE – let us know you’ve voted on Instagram by using the hashtag #Vote4VanityGirl.  This makes you eligible for a chance to win some fun prizes from our beauty friends as a thank you for supporting us.

Vanity Girl Hollywood at #BestofLA Beauty

It’s been such a great month to celebrate the woman most of us learned our beauty tricks from – MOM!

MomAngeles and LA Mom Magazine got together yesterday to host a special event in Brentwood  (one of LA’s meccas for spotting chic Moms – think Alessandra Ambrosia, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Garner).  The event targeted tastemakers and influencers on LA’s Westside.  Click here to watch the video by LA FOCUS Magazine (meet me at the 2:45 minute mark)

The event featured experts speaking on how to get that effortless Westside beauty look, and booths where attendees could get treated to blow outs, curls, massages and more.

We were excited to collaborate with fellow girl boss Theresa and her team of hair magicians at the Blo Beauty Bar.  The line never died down! We think very woman and chic Mom deserves fresh curls or a good flat iron beachy wave.

We brought our new Infinity Mirror and signature Teal Broadway vanity which was perfect for these Westside beauties to see their freshly styled hair.

Some of my personal faves from the other beauty brands included:  per-fekt beauty (I am obsessed with the liquid gold illuminating perfector thanks to my beauty bestie Jenn Chan); the Nourishing Cleansing Blam from BeautyCounter (I received mine in the PopSugar Must Have Box so I was thrilled to see them at the event) and I can’t wait to try the 30 Minute Treatment from The Face Bar which is (yaaayyy sooooo excited), in my hometown of West Hollywood.  A 30 minute peel for $69?  YES PLEASE (insert raised hand emoji here).

The SWAG bag was incredible so I will be posting more about new beauty discoveries, and in the meantime – here is the video!

About last night: #CincoDeBellami party

I had such a great time last night at the #CincoDeBellami party.  Usually, Cinco de Mayo means great tacos and margaritas for me here in Los Angeles … which I LOVE of course.  However, last night was all about high glam as the Bellami Flagship Beauty Bar rolled out the Pink Carpet right in the heart of the West Hollywood Design District for some of beauty’s brightest celebs, beauty editors and influencers.

Below:  Eva the Diva, Guy Tang and Lilly Ghalichi on the Pink Carpet.

That’s me and that’s a wrap from the Pink Carpet and a SWAG bag full of goodies.  Thanks for having me Bellami!

Survivorship is beautiful!

We were so inspired when we heard the story of 17-year old cancer survivor Cristy Lara of El Paso, Texas.    When reporter Vianey Arana reached out to us and told us about Cristy and her brave battle against cancer, I knew we wanted to get involved.

I spent over 10 years working for the American Cancer Society, so this is a cause that is very dear to my heart.  When Vianey explained how much Cristy loves makeup and YouTube beauty gurus (pretty much like most girls her age),  I knew we wanted to help this strong young woman feel as glamorous and beautiful as possible.

Thrive Cosmetics – also a #girlboss company – also stepped in and I’m super impressed her mission.  She created her company after one of her dear friends _______.

The makeup artist onset did a really masterful  job bringing out Cristy’s glow.  Like Cristy says herself, she was already beautiful and his artistry just took it to the next level.

Vanity Girl Hollywood Mirrors great launch for your beauty business

We were so proud to sponsor the Batalla de la Belles competition on Saturday, February 20th.  I also served as a judge alongside Ruby of Ruby’s Makeup Academy and celebrity makeup artist Henry.

The Battle:  2 makeup artists and 2 hair artists went head to head for the win in this round.  Their mission was to create Red Carpet Hollywood looks within one hour.  For of our Black Broadway vanities provided the backdrop for the contest and made Tiffany’s on Vine even more glamorous.

The location:   Event Producer Cesar X Lopez chose Tiffany’s on Vine, a beautiful intimate location with the perfect entrance for a step and repeat.

The celebration:  Celebrity Makeup Artist Derek Rutledge (he works with the likes of Oprah, Michelle Obama and more!) and Ruby of Ruby’s Makeup Academy celebrated their February birthdays along with the battle.

Women’s History Month: Art Exhibits in West Hollywood

Happy Women’s History Month!

WOMEN MANIFEST is presenting three fine art exhibits for Women’s History Month.   The exhibits have been curated by Brooke Mason and are designed to support, empower and embrace women.  I’m totally in alignment with that!  I’m honored to have been shot by the talented and beautiful Brooke and she even has a Black Broadway in her West Hollywood studio (she bought one before we ever even met)!

The exhibits showcase women only artists and are themed around issues that women face as artists and in society.

201603_WMAtTheCore_V1_BM 201603_WMOutandAbout_BM

The female artists represented in these exhibits were selected because they exemplify these qualities of strength in their work and as individuals. These are empowered women and through their own experiences as females and as artists they have broken free of boundaries placed on them.

Artists include: Betty Gold, Jana Cruder, Carolyn Doucette, Lee Bowers, Bibi Davidson, Diane Holland, Gulla Jónsdóttir, Camella DaEun Kim, Ingrid Knuti, Lola Del Fresno, Micky Hoogendijk, Julienne Johnson, Nicole Landau, Feng Ling, Brooke Mason, Joanne Chase Matillo, Felicity Nove, Elizabeth Orleans.

P.S.  I’m honored and humbled to win the Phyllis Morris Award this year at the Women Leadership Award.  Come celebrate with us on March 23 at the GORGEOUSLY GLAM Phyllis Morris showroom.

Please join us in congratulating Gladys for taking this winning #vanityselfie at Brian Champagne’s  HydraPlex booth.   As usual, we used WooBox to choose the winner at random.   Here were the original rules.

What a fun weekend we had at IMATS LA 2016!  If you have never been, it is like Disneyland for makeup junkies.  We ran into old friends, like my gorgeous fellow #girlboss Mary of Cosmocube who also sponsored Brian’s Demystifying Instagram workshop.

Vanity Girl Hollywood Giveaway with Brian Champagne IMATS 2016

Vanity Girl Hollywood sponsors Instagram Sensation Brian Champagne's HydraPlex launch at IMATS LA 2016 with a giveaway

Are you going to IMATS LA this weekend?

If so, make sure to stop by Brian Champagne’s booth 6009 and take a selfie for a chance to win your very own Broadway Mirror valued at $399.

I’ve known Brian a few years now, he purchased a Black Broadway (seen above with the gorgeous MUA talent known as @Evilyn_MUA) for his Houston salon.   Brian is  3X World Champion Facialist (licensed in TX and CA)  and a MUA for over 28 years and I remember when he was just getting started on IG.  Well clearly he has figured that out because he has curated a beautiful page and boasts over 650K followers now!

But much more than that, he loves this industry and is getting ready to launch an amazing product … his HydraPlex serum that I just adore.  I like to use it after I was my face before I prime my skin … and it gives me such a nice smooth canvas to work with.  Obviously other beauty lovers feel the same way (like @dressyourface and @nikkifrenchmakeup) because I’ve also seen their IG posts with this amazing product.

Brian generously hosts makeup artists in his Houston Salon, and always takes a #vanityselfie of his guests which I just love.   So when he came to LA to launch his product and share his knowledge from stage – we were honored to sponsor his booth with a giveaway.

Simply visit his booth, take a selfie (make sure the logo shows) and post using the hashtag #champagnevanity6009

Complete rules are here!   I’ve been a little under the weather (isn’t this a nasty little cold going around?) but 3 days of bed rest, Netflix binge watching and homemade chicken soup have done the trick.  Sooooo, I hope to join his wrap up “Demystifying Instagram Success” class (featuring @nikkifrenchmakeup, @ash_kholm, @brittanybearkmakeup and @romyglambeauty),  on Sunday and then walk the floor and see what goodies IMATS LA 2016 has to offer.

If you go this Sunday, please make sure to stop me and say “Hi!”

Finally – here is Brian’s beautiful Vanity Room.  #goals or what?
